Grameen PrimaCare (GPC) aims to improve access to high-quality affordable health care for members of Grameen America, our sister organization, in New York City.
There are currently over 8,000 Grameen America (GA) members in New York City. GA members live at or below the official poverty level of about $20,000 a year for a family of four in New York City and represent the poorest of the working poor. GA members are predominately (90%) immigrant Hispanic women and they have the chronic conditions prevalent in low-income communities, including diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and asthma.
